Did you know that the name "craps" used to be "crabs"?
Why is this North America dice game played in casionos  named like this ?
Some history scientists believe that it all began with an old british game, named Hazzard.
At that time, and only in this game, people were saying "throw the crabs" in stead of "trow the dices".
The french people that established themselves in New Orleans kept this game alive, but in time, the differences between the two languages changed its name as well.
In this way the game changed from "Crabs" to "Craps", but not only, the rules changed as well, the old british gane being forgotten as time passed.
